Friendship Card ~ Vintage You Are 100% Awesome

First I would like to thank Lori at Papercrafts by Saints Rule for some blog hop candy I received back in July of 2012.  I know it was almost a year ago and I did already personally thank her but that was before I had a blog where I could share the projects I make with her goodies. Thanks Lori!
I am not real experienced with making cards with the vintage feel but that is why they call it a challenge after all. And when I wanted to add a little bling to my card of course shiny pearls came to mind.
Whenever my momma would dress up when I was a little girl she would put on her special pearls. This card is dedicated to my mom and to those special times we spent together. I miss and love you Mom.

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in.
*All design paper from the Bo Bunny Little Miss Collection 6x6 pad (blog candy from Lori)
*Large frame from the My Creative Time Stitched "Capture" Frame with Arrow Die set.
*Small frame from the My Creative Time Stitched Mini Frame & Arrow Dies set.
*Sentiment from the  My Creative Time It's All About You stamp set.
*Stamped sentiment and sponged edges using the Jim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink pad.
*Ribbon from Prima Ribbon (Blog candy from Lori)
*I made a string of shiny pearls from Craft Designer
*Foam tape added to give dimension.

May your day always be filled with love.

Birthday Card ~ A Birthday Picnic (post #2)

My second card is also a birthday card. When I saw this adorable Silhouette cut I knew I must make a card with it. It is this week's freebie at the Silhouette Online Store .
Of course what colors came to mind when I was planning this card? You guessed it the good ol' red, white and blue.
I made mine a birthday card but could just as easily be made into a party invite or 4th of July card.

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in.
*Basket, napkin & ants cut from Design #44706 called picnic basket with ants.
*Basket embossed using the Sizzix Woodgrain folder.
*Sentiment from the Verve Stamps Small Phrases stamp set.
*Star and circle brads from Recollections.
*Ant trail drawn on using a Sakura Gelly Roll pen.
*Foam tape added to give dimension.

Birthday Card ~ Patriotic Oliver (post #1)

I made this patriotic birthday card using this adorable Birthday Oliver stamp from The Paper Nest Dolls.
I used my star punch to add stars to the corners of the card front then embossed it with my stripe folder.
After coloring Oliver in good ol' red, white and blue I decided he needed to be surrounded by a little celebration so I added the tiny, tiny stars that were left when I punched the corners and then punched some red ones to add, too.
I needed to Verve it up a little so of course I used my cute Mini Bookplates to add my sentiment.
To finish it off I added a little red, white and blue twine to the top corner.
Enjoy.

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in.
*Card front cut at 5.25 x 4 in. I punched stars in the corner using the EK Success Starry Night corner punch then embossed it using the stripe folder from the Cuttlebug Retro Kitchen set.
*Birthday Oliver digital image from The Paper Nest Dolls.
*Sentiment from the Verve Stamps Small Phrases stamp set.
*Sentiment frame from the Verve Stamps Mini Bookplates die set.
*Spectrum Noir pens used: DR3 and TB5.
*Twine from Divine Twine.

Just Because Card ~ Summer Swimmin'

Orange is not a color I use much so I had to search for paper that had orange as well as green and yellow in it.  Of course I knew with all of this paper I have here I must have something with those colors in it.  This is the first one I found.
My card needed to be summer related.  I wasn't sure how I was going to use it until I got out one of my new Cuttlebug Emboss Plus folders.  I cut it out using kraft colored paper and then it hit me.
An aquarium or fish tank.  Going to an aquarium or checking out the fish tanks at the zoo have definitely been a part of a summer trip or two for us.

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in.
*Card front 5.25 x 4 in. cut and embossed using the Cuttlebug Whimsy Embossing Plus folder.
*Pattern paper from Provo Craft
*Twine from D' Vine Twine.
*Rhinestones from Joanns.
*Button from my stash.

Thinking of You Card ~ Sending You a Rainbow (post #1)

I'm not sure how many of you are blessed to have both or even one of your parents still here to share your ups and downs with.
My mom passed away 5 days after my 30th birthday while our daughter was still just a toddler. Too young to know and miss this wonderfully loving woman. My sister A~ and I were honored to care for her though her fight with cancer. And blessed to be there as she passed peacefully in her sleep.
Fast forward 14 years... this time we are at my sister A~'s house. After our dad had surgery his heart started to fail and all he wanted was to be home when his time came.
It was early January in the Palm Desert area. Being where it was hot and sunny that time of year was quite surreal. I went for a walk to catch my breath and have a little cry. Suddenly a small rain and wind storm came along. What do I see when I look up into the still blue sky?   This beautiful rainbow.
I knew in an instant what that beautiful rainbow meant so I hurried back to my dad's bedside. I told him that we were all going to be okay and that momma had sent him a rainbow from heaven. The next day he joined our mom there.

Whenever I see or make a rainbow I am reminded of memories that at times feel so close and at others seem so far away...  Hold your loved ones close and tell them you love them often.

I created the rainbow on this card by adding water to ink from stamp pads and painting it on to get this watercolor effect.

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in. and embossed using the Cuttlebug Wedding Suite folder.
*Card front 5.25 x 4 in. with the rainbow painted directly on.
*Sentiment from the Verve Stamps Small Phrases stamp set.
*Sentiment frame from the Verve Stamps Mini Bookplate die set.
*Bird and grass stamps from Close To My Heart.
*Stamp pads used:
-CTMH Grape Sherbet, Clover Meadow, Outdoor Denim
-Stampin' Up Yo Yo Yellow, Real Red
  -Marvy #7 Orange

Father's Day Card ~ Starry Night Lighthouse

I had a friend who asked for some Father's day cards so I am working on a bunch this weekend for her to chose from.
I had this idea a few days ago but just couldn't get my crafty mojo going. I just sat at my crafting table and moved things around. I sketched out a few other ideas but nothing came together. When I'm like that it is just best to walk away and come back later. Last night I cut out a bunch of the Cricut cuts I needed for the sketches and was finally able to get a couple of cards to come together the way I liked.

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in.
*Card front frames 4.25 x 4  in. and 4 x 3.75 in.
*Card front 3.75 x 3.5 in.using the Bo Bunny  Camp-a-lot 6x6 pad.
*Sentiment stamp from the CardzTV "Happy Days" stamps set.
*Lighthouse and rocks stamps from Close To My heart.
*Ribbon from my stash.
*Jute from my stash.

Father's Day Card ~ Father and Daughter

I have another Father's Day card to share with you.
Last year I purchased a bunch of  Cricut Craft Room digital single cut cards.
This card is made with one of those card cuts but after I altered it using CCR.
Instead of having my Cricut cut out the whole card I hid the card outline and welded a 5 x 3.75 in. rectangle to make it a card front instead.

*Card base 5.5 x 4.25 in.
*Card front cut at 4 in. from the Cricut Craft Room Father's Day Card-Daddy/Daughter single cut.
*Pink cardstock added to the back of the card front.
*Hand cut little white bows for the shoes.
*Rhinestones added to the shoe bows.
*Sentiment from the Cardz TV "Happy Days" stamp set.
*Ribbon scraps from my stash.
*Foam tape under sentiment for added dimension.

May your day always be filled with love.
